Julian Primeaux
Grammy Award nominee and Louisiana Music Hall of Fame inductee Julian Primeaux is the son of rock’n’soul and southern roots. Hailing from the swamps and sounding like a Gritty Rock 'N' Roll Freight Train guided through a Swamp Blues Spiritual Explosion. The blues runs deep in his songs of both heartache & joy. Revelation don’t come on the mountain, it comes way down in the valley where you’ll find him preaching his electric sermons.Julian's passion for playing guitar started when he was 8 and by age 12 was performing live regularly. Ever since, he’s sang & played everywhere from juke-joints in Louisiana to Times Square in New York to concert halls and festivals all over Europe.
In 2009 he released his debut album 'Flowers From My Bones'. 'Rock 'n Roll Boy followed in 2011 and 'This Guilded, Swaying Heart' in 2016. In 2022, Julian officially became a Grammy Nominee for performing on Corey Ledet's album. His latest album 'Songs For The Heart Of Sister Flute' was released in July 2023 and received a nomination for Offbeat Magazine's Best of The Beat Awards for 'Singer/Songwriter Album of the Year'. In July of 2024, Julian was Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and was a featured spotlight artist on NPR’s World Cafe. His 5th album and final volume in his trilogy of records about the human heart "Spinning Heartache Into Gold" was released in 2025.
He has performed and/or opened for a who’s who of local, national and international artists/acts, including Gary Clark Jr., Dr. John, Dick Dale, Rev. Horton Heat, Dax Riggs, Sonny Landreth, Ian Moore, Cold War Kids, Andy Frasco & The UN, Lazy Lester, Anders Osborne, Lil’ Nathan & The Zydeco Big Timers, multi-Grammy-nominated Corey Ledet, and many more.
